Cynthia M. Gallant, MAc., Lic.Ac., Lic.MT  Dipl.Ac.Abt.NCCAOM Lic. Acupuncturist & Lic. Massage Therapist Cardiovascular Research Scientist Boston University~15 years                                                                                                                                                         

Cynthia is a graduate of New England School of Acupuncture/ Mass College of Pharmacy and a Diplomat in Acupuncture and Asian Bodywork Therapy and professionally Board Certified from the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  

 New England School of Acupuncture is one of the first Acupuncture schools founded in the United States and well known to be prestigious and well respected Traditional Chinese Medical Schools in the Country. 

She received her Doctorate license of Acupuncture from the Board of Health in RI and licensed in Massachusetts as an Acupuncturist by the MA Board of Medicine and licensed in Massage Therapy by the MA Board of Massage Therapy.  In addition, Cynthia is a Certified Asian Bodywork Therapist in Zen Shiatsu.

Formerly, Cynthia was on Faculty at NESA/MCPHS as part of the “CAP” Community Affiliated Outreach Program at the Tufts Medical Center Boston, MA in Dept. of Hematology and Oncology and specializes in pain management and enhancing the quality of life for her breast cancer and sickle cell patients in the Breast Cancer Clinic.  Cynthia practiced at Serenity in the City Spa & Salon in Medford, as well as the Water House Wellness in Arlington, MA.  Cynthia was listed as “Top Doctor of 2018 and 2019” based on certified patient reviews in Arlington and Medford and can be found on the International Doctor’s website Find a Doctor and part of the, International Association of Healthcare Professionals.  Currently, Cynthia is on faculty staff as a part-time guest speaker at the Mass College of Pharmacy instructing student nurses on clinical uses of acupuncture for cognitive vascular decline in elderly patients.  Her knowledge of Acupuncture with Biomedicine took her to Dublin, Ireland where she gave an International presentation through the 9th International Conference on Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine~ EuroSciCon and published with the Acupuncture Congress 2018, Herbal Medicine: Open Access on “The uses of acupuncture in the hospital setting for symptom management in patients with breast cancer,” recognized by the British Academy of Continuing Medical Education.  Finally, The Museum of Fine Art Boston, MA invited her to give a lecture on “Acupuncture, a pointed approach to healing.”

Cynthia draws from her various clinical intern experiences at Winchester Hospital Walk-In Clinic and at NESA’s Newton, MA Clinic where she practiced both Japanese and Chinese Acupuncture Styles.  

Cynthia also has 18 years clinical experience as a Zen Shiatsu Japanese Bodywork Therapist and was a graduate of Charles River School of Shiatsu.  She has in addition studied Tuina and SotaiHo~Structural Integration and alignment Bodywork Styles at NESA as well as Cranial Sacral Training from Upledger Institute. In 2023, Cynthia has been certified in US Government Military Advance Battlefield Acupuncture and is able to mitigate pain for chronic issues that are related to PTSD, physical pain due to trauma related injuries.

Cynthia comes from a Martial Arts background in Taekwondo that helps her understand body mechanics and muscle synergy, where she formally trained at Boston University under Mass Collegiate Taekwondo Association and became a US National 2nd degree Black Belt Taekwondo Forms Champion.  She has also trained with Master Bow Sim Mark at the Chinese Wushu Research Institute in Boston Chinatown giving Tai Chi demonstrations and studied Medical Qigong under Grand Master Zhang Yuangming and certified Qigong Research and Qigong Therapy by Master Ken Cohen.  

As a past biology graduate of Boston University, a nationally published academic cardiovascular research scientist, and now Acupuncturist, Cynthia combines eastern and western medicine in her clinical practice looking at the root cause of pathology and takes a holistic style approach in her treatments to achieve overall harmony and balance in the human body.
